How not to get a cannon ball wound: “Number one do not stand directly in front of a cannon. How True that is!” – Brian Regan

Get off the couch, get off the computer, put the brownie down and start making a positive difference in your life and the life of your loved ones. Obesity, you know what it is, you know how to avoid or reverse it, so the real question is what are you doing about it? The truth is that obesity effects a lot more than just the individual. Everyone helps pay for the healthcare of the obese and the emotional toll on the family from disability and shortened life cannot be measured.

Currently in the U.S. the statistics show that 35.7% of adults are obese. Obesity ruins an individuals quality of life. No matter how much you weigh, try walking around carrying an extra 50lbs for a while and see how you feel. Do your feet or knees hurt? Do your hips or low back ache? Feeling a little winded going up a flight of stairs? These are just the immediate consequences of being overweight. The less immediate are the high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes to name a few. These conditions together are termed as Metabolic Syndrome. There is something fundamentally wrong with your body if you are experiencing any of these problems, but as I said earlier this is avoidable and reversible. Don’t stand in front of the cannon, bad things usually happen if you do.
